Golf Pro Father = Many Retired Men in Polos

The Cardon's had a beautiful ceremony in a well air-conditioned room at July end. Let us not make mention of another ceremony held outside in the blazing sun. Unfortunately for our guests it was the temperature of what hell might feel like. What a fun day! I loved being able to hang out with the girls for one last day before moving (in less than a week I will no longer reside in Logan, Utah) The wedding turned out amazing and Wendi was the most beautiful I have ever seen her in my entire life. Here are the lovely greeters...Tanner ended up sitting with us at the wedding book and knew someone new about every ten feet. Thanks to Tanner I am super-social. I love how awkward I can be at times...it's amazing. Here are few more photos from the wedding day.
Just the girls...Ashley's naked baby Caroline & AnaleseAnalese & Kira both caught the bouquet...dun...dun...dunnnnnn! Justin and Wendi making their escape while getting pelted by bird seed...Good luck to Wendi and Justin and may they live happily ever after!

Lady Aggies?

Pre-clinic emotions...all smilesLast night my mom and I joined some pretty fierce ladies at the free football clinic at USU. Little did the two of us know that we were going to be taking each other out and sweating bullets. We thought they were going to teach us the rules of the game not take us through their daily practice. Imagine this: Kirsten in her school clothes line driving LuCinda in her fancy work attire, LuCinda falling flat on her back and then her head bouncing off the ground. I swear my mom got a concussion but she swears she is fine. A bonding moment to say the least.

TC: Tube-a-palooza 2008

Monday, July 28, 2008

Today I couldn't be happier that I live in Utah. We have a special little thing called Pioneer Day. NO WORK! Kirsten's friend Ali had this great idea to go float the Oneida Narrows. We graciously accepted her offer as well as invited our good friends, the Doyles.

The trip actually began yesterday with a trip to all local stores in search of tubes that we manage to buy every single year. Well, no luck. No tube at Wal-Mart, Al's, Sports Authority, K-Mart and after mo-pedding to all of those locations, we decided to hit up Big-O Tire in the morning. Did I mention that Pioneer day is a state wide holiday? Good, Big-O...closed. Well it just so happens that there are two local stores not celebrating with all the other Mormon Pioneers, Kings and Ron Keller Tire, who both sell tubes! Doyles went to RKT and got generic black tubes while Ali voyaged to Kings and got Kirsten and I River Rats.

So Ali invited us, her boyfriend, and everyone else still in Logan (not easy to make one large group leave on time). So after picking up our tubes Kirst and I drove to meet the Doyles at RKT so they didn't have to wait for the rest of us alone. Wait...wait...wait. Still no group so we decided to make the trip across state lines without them.

Over the river and through the woods couldn't have held truer. We parked the Purple People Eater (Doyle's Car) at the bottom and all rode together in the White Knight (Durango) up to the top. After unloading the tubes, sun screening our white bods (some not enough), we began our decent down the river. Note about Kirsten: she doesn't like water....or swimming. But that didn't stop her.

We all got in and the 3.5 hour, 7 mile journey began. For the most part this is a very Lazy river. I did mention it took 150 minutes to traverse 7 miles didn't I? There are however 3 waterfalls along this ride. The first of which Ryan managed to flip his tube immediately before Kirsten flipped hers right on his head. Being that I was a few feet behind the two hooligans I had a perfect view of the whole event. Even the part where Kirsten thought she had found her tube but really was on top of Ryan's holding him under the current kicking furiously to escape the massive amount of water pouring atop the two. AWESOME. Well it was awesome for the viewer, the viewee, not so much. Oh, Anna and I made it though unscathed.

Yawn....lazy river......quiet conversation......waterfall #2! "I'm going to die!" screams Kirsten while dragging Anna with her into the current. "I don't want to (garrgle, garrgle), ARGH!" Now I thought the first waterfall adventure was awesome but after searching for the right word, supercalifragilisticexpialidocious is all I have.

Laze....talk....get sunburned....waterfall #3! Well I wish that this one was as special as the first two but it sure wasn't. We all made it through like it wasn't even there. Besides almost missing the get-out point, the rest of the float was filled with R & R. We loved hanging out with the Doyles on our float trip. These are the times we will miss when we move.

Addicted to Weeds

Thursday, July 24, 2008

Tanner and I like to watch a little bit of something before hittin' the hay. Whether it be Lost, Grey's, MTV, Californication it is always a great way to unwind. Lately it has been a whole lot of Weeds. It is super witty, clever, and we find ourselves either laughing our socks off or being so frustrated because of all the drama that the manage to create. You know you are in trouble when you find yourself talking about the show after the fact. Anyway I hear that the first step in recovery is admitting your addiction... Read more...

Hot Nights in Logan, Utah

Monday, July 21, 2008

My mom has been raving about The Indian Oven lately. Tanner and I have wanted to check it out but just haven't had the chance, until Saturday night that is. Not only did we get dinner we also got a show. My parent's friend Traci had a belly dance performance at the Whittier Center and it was catered by TIO. Everything was amazing,(the dancing, the curry, the company) what an awesome night!

Here is Traci and the amazing live band
Krista lighting up the stage and a future belly dancer that wouldn't get off the stage

Lazy pups of summer

Our dogs are such dorks...here are a few pics that I thought were ultra-cute.

There is this beautiful lawn on our daily walk that Baxter loves to death. He stops and gives it special attention every day and will belly-crawl through it and makes sure to mark his territory. Friday on our walk he stopped on it in the shade and refused to leave.

Jack always has to have a pillow (I didn't know dogs used pillows) He really likes to use my slippers as a makeshift pillow these days.

Catching up...

I can't believe it! Wendi is getting married to her main squeeze, Justin. I am so excited for her. I went to her bridal shower on Tuesday* and was happy to see some old friends. We got on the subject of what all of our old classmates are doing and thankfully we had the unofficial rainman Analese to set us straight on some things. It was a lot of fun to see everyone and hear about babies, boyfriends, fun single lives and sex drives.

Time flies when you're having fun

Monday, July 14, 2008

I cannot believe it has been ONE year since Tanner and I got married. It seems like yesterday when I walked down the aisle in front of our friends and family and saw his smiling face waiting for me at the alter. It's been a great year filled with lots of moments that I won't ever forget. Tanner and I have so much fun together and it's partly because we are opposites in every sense, it really keeps it interesting. I am so grateful that I get to share my life with such a wonderful person he makes me look forward to each new day. I made a video that highlights our last six years together in celebration of our anniversary. Hope you like it, especially you Tanner : )

These boots are made for walkin'

Saturday, July 12, 2008

My longing for my very own pair of cowboy boot slippers began on Tanner's birthday last year. He got some from his Gran and I confiscated them and wore the size 12 heaters around the house all winter long. They were perfect in my Tanner inflicted sub-zero house. I loved them! Well, I loved them until one fateful day in February when I was running up the stairs and the oversized toe of the boot caught the edge of the stair and I fell flat on my face in the landing. After that painful day I never placed them on my feet again.

I had partially, but not completely, forgotten about them until last week when I was in Red Lodge, Montana. I passed a western style shop and a pair of the beauties caught my eye from the window. My warm memories came flooding back and I had to have them! I must say that they were very overpriced but that didn't hold me back, unfortunately Tanner did. I didn't give up without a fight...but I didn't go home with them either.

We stopped at Gran & Gramp's on our way back to Utah to say goodbye and out walks Gran with a belated gift for my birthday. I think all stories should have a happy ending and thankfully this one does. I opened the specially wrapped package and to my surprise Gran knew exactly what my heart desired. It was a pair of size 6, pink, cowgirl boot slippers. I couldn't have been happier. Thanks Gran!

Off to Powell, Wyoming...Day One

Thursday, July 3, 2008

We wanted to take a trip out to visit Tanner's family this summer before we make the move to Virginny. So, we packed up the car and the pups and made the 8 hour drive through some pretty desolate terrain. Here are a few updates of the trip so far.

The morning of the trip we were getting the bags ready to go and Baxter made for dang sure that he wasn't getting left behind. He didn't allow more than one foot between him and Tanner the whole morning and busted out the door as soon as we opened it and hopped in the car. Jack on the other hand was on the other side of the spectrum. He fought with all his might to be kept out of the car you wouldn't think the little guy would be so strong. He hated his life the whole entire trip. We had a long drive but had fun playing 20 questions, reading mags, cleaning up Jack puke, and and starting and completing my first Sudoku.
We had some delicious smoked turkey at Tanner's dad's house for dinner and hung out and talked...Gramps informed us that there are two drive-in movies left in the world and one just happens to be in Powell, Wyoming.

Next, over to Kelly & Annie's. Chris found some old school hats of Kelly's and thought it would be funny to wear each one and post it on his blog. It really was pretty funny. Taylor mascara'd his blonde mustache and Christy made some "pink panty pulldowns" and madeout with Baxter. Not much going on but it was definitely some good times.
