LOVE

Thursday, June 5, 2008

My mom has been dying to see Sex and the City...she honestly made a countdown (you know like one of those Christmas chains). We decided to make it a family event and went when everyone got off work. It was soooo good, one of the best movies I have seen in a while. I didn't really know what to expect but I was satisfied to say the least. We all laughed until we cried and cried until they made us laugh. The girls behind us were honestly weeping, weeping. It was great. What I took to heart out of the rollercoaster of a movie was to always be honest with yourself, love without holding anything back, and the importance of forgiveness. Sounds all serious for Sex and the City, huh?

When we got out of the movie my dad said he got a text from Courte that said "The new Ford Taurus looked really cool." We all kind of just moved on with our own thoughts I honestly thought she was kidding because my dad is the biggest Honda/Toyota guy. We couldn't decide where to go for dinner and then finally decided upon Firehouse but my dad said that it made him sick last week (everything makes him sick, he is lactose intolerant and refuses to admit it) so we changed our direction to Sabor. We have so much fun with my parents, they aren't much like real parents, no offense. I feel like they are good friends that you can just be yourself with. They really have great stories too (about circumcision, drinking, and interesting things like that). At dinner pops mentioned that Courte said via text "It kind of looks like the Ford Focus" (like it was a good thing). I lost my mind. If you are reading this Courte, what has gotten in to you?

Whul all in all it was a great Thursday night. I thought it would be appropriate to post this cute photo of my high school sweetheart parents... Read more...

TC: Scoot scoot...

Monday, June 2, 2008

Before gas prices decide to hit $12 per gallon I decided to take some initiative. So purely by good fortune I asked a friend of mine, who happens to own a scooter and does not use it, if I could "borrow" it for the summer. His response "It doesn't work right now but if you can fix it you can ride it." "YES! New ride!"

Also by good fortune, the "Car Doctor" (my dad) happened to be in town for the weekend. He and I went up to the mansion to check out the bike. The simple diagnosis was a bad battery. We had two choices; One, charge the battery or two, buy a new one. So off to Renegade Sports we went. A new scooter battery only runs about $30 so that's what we did. After a short scuffle between "Car Doc" and "Behind the Counter Guy" (about "venting" the new batter) we left Renegade without the battery because it had to be "vented and fully charged."

5.5 hours later I was in and out of the store, battery in hand, and back to the mansion to attempt a possible fix on my own ("Car Doc" was M.I.A.). Upon arrival I quickly noticed I wasn't the only outsider at the mansion. There was an entire window cleaning crew (advantage). After putting the battery in and having no luck starting the damn thing, I managed to putz around the rest of the bike like a monkey would on a computer. I tipped it on it's right, on it's left, upside-down, and right-side-up. Nothing seemed to do the trick. Finally, after likely being quietly ridiculed, one of the washers decided his two cents might help. "Has this switch (shut off) been off the whole time?" he asked. I hadn't even seen or touched any switches but I'll be damned if that wasn't the problem. One quick flip of that little guy and "zoom zoom" I was off and on my way down the driveway.

To make a long story short, I got an awesome ride, learned a bit about scooters, and met a new friend. Now who gives a shit if gas prices are through the roof, my scooter gets 60 miles per gallon! Look out open road, here I come (max speed 45).

Tanner has taken an interest in the blogging world...so hopefully he will continue to make more posts on our personal blog because this was a good one.

C&C wedding week festivities

Saturday, May 31, 2008

We just wanted to say congrats to Chris & Christy...and also thank them for getting married so we had an excuse to skip school and work and get together with Tanner's family and celebrate. Chris & Tanner made a deal with this cool company, Animoto, so I used it to make a video that highlights the wedding week. Enjoy.

Countdown to the big day...

Tuesday, May 20th - Tanner & I flew into Dulles, we were happily surprised to see Tanner's cousin Brooke who has been in Africa for 6 months at baggage claim.

Wednesday, May 21st - Boy's night out (Golfing, Gambling, Girls), Girl's night out (KP's, Food, Guitar Hero), The front page of Yahoo picked up Chris's "love story" post which was neat.

Thursday, May 22nd - Chris posted some sultry photos of Christy on his personal blog and sparked a lot of interest, T & I spent the day with Nance in D.C., We all cleaned up and went to the rehearsal and dinner at Bonarotti's (we had a delicious six-course meal and had to be rolled out of the ristorante). The two best parts of the night were one: Koz saying "Hey Numb Nuts" to Dan Snyder in front of everyone, and two: Todd making the waiter read the specials (nearly the entire menu).

Friday, May 23rd (heart) we hung out at the house and tried to stay busy until it was time to get ready. The ceremony was at six and we were all pretty and ready for the wedding bells but the preacher had an emergency (of course) I mean I guess every wedding needs some stress, right? Well he finally made it and the ceremony was beautiful. I would have to say my favorite part of the night was the 1st dance. It was so special, Christy's dad sang "Heaven" by Bryan Adams, it was amazing enough for tears.

The rest of the night was filled with non-stop music and dancing and as you can tell by the pictures it got pretty wild.

Saturday, May 24th - R&R, yeah right! Chris & Christy departed early to the Bahamas for their honeymoon. As for the rest of us it was time for some BBQ at Nance's and some amazing karaoke moments at KP's.

Sunday, May 25th - back to normal life, Tanner and I left at 6 am from Dulles airport and made it home for our one day to recoupe from the busy week. Read more...

Dancin' the night away

Tuesday, May 27, 2008

Last week we went out to VA for Chris & Christy's wedding. The week was really eventful to say the least. I don't have much time to post because I need to write a paper for class before the day is over. But I thought I would put up a great photo from the dance portion of the night. I will be posting about the whole wedding week when I have a chance, hopefully before this weekend.

Amay-za-zing!!!

Thursday, April 24, 2008

My family decided it was about time for a family vacation. We decided to hit up Moab this past weekend and here is the proof that we had some good times.
Arches National Park

This was a really fun hike and I might add that it was "highly strenuous." It was absolutely worth it to make the hike, I highly recommend it. Ty, Courte, Tanner, and I got off the trail somehow and ended up scaling walls in order to get a good view of the "Delicate Arch." I don't know why we all went along with it, we should have known that it wasn't the right way. We made it though and took some beautiful photos.
Muscle Man Ty Courte was really excited to wake up to the sights and sounds of the Super 8 motel that we stayed at,
Deadhorse Point State Park

We thought it would be fun to take our puplers to Moab. Come to find out on the first day of our adventure that animals are not allowed in the National Parks. Wow! Would have been nice to know before we left Logan I even had an awesome dog-sitter on call. Well the visitor center guide told us that they could come with us to Deadhorse Point because it is a State Park. They came with us on a little hike and loved it. Jack was rolling around in the dirt and they were both searching everything out.

Canyonlands National Park

For some reason Tanner, Ty, and Courte thought it was really funny to get really close to the edge or pretend like they were falling off the edge of the trail. It wasn't funny the fall would be fatal and I really didn't appreciate it. But, I guess I can laugh about it now.

Courteney scaring mom, dad, & me.

Watch this video....Ty & Tanner made an awesome recovery after this daring act.

You may ask yourself what Tanner is doing but there is a perfectly good explanation for his yoga position. Tanner wanted to reinact the postcard that he saw earlier that said "Yoga Moab." This must be a pretty common occurrence for them to advertise it.
This doesn't look very cool to the untrained eye but this rock was really hard and scary to climb up on.
Tanner's artsy side came out on this trip.Ah...serenity.

The Cooley Zone

Wednesday, April 23, 2008

Some exciting news! Tanner & Chris have been working on a website for Chris that gives an inside look into Chris's day-to-day life for fans. Well some people from Yahoo! Sports caught wind of this and asked if Chris would write a weekly post for them!!! Well today was his first post about his draft day back in 2004 in spirits for the draft this weekend. And to think this all stemmed from my sista, Courteney, getting me interested in posting my exciting life happenings on blogspot.

Oh yeah, Chris was on DC 101, a radio station out in DC, promoting his website and blog and chatting it up with the host Elliot (in the morning). It was cool to listen to him talk about something that Tanner has been so involved in lately. Last night Tanner was seriously excited he said it was “Better than Christmas.” We woke up at 5:30 a.m. this morning to hear the radio interview live, it was fun slash tiring. It was a good interview I will have to try and post it later. Read more...

Summer is in the air...

Friday, April 18, 2008

I am so sick of this crappy weather...but I think summer is in the air. There have been a few golf outings as well as some other fun activities outdoors for us. I love it!

Tanner and I golfing in Virginia with Chris, Christy, Scott, Craig. Christy and I had gotten pedi's & mani's earlier this day and gone shopping then we decided to meet the boys at the golf course. It was a nice day but the men were not so happy, they were all doing really bad...Tanner is displaying how they all felt in this picture. All in all it ended up being pretty fun I think Christy and I cheered them up a bit.

Dr. Nelson's casa

We went up here to film a funny "dunk contest" for Chris's blog. That didn't end up happening but we had fun. There was a little 360 bball action, some fast pitch batting practice, ping-pong, and some artwork de Kirsten as well.

We had a fun time last weekend in Virginia here are a few pics from our celebratory bowling night!

We had lots o' fun in Virginia hanging out with Tanner's fam...So, you may not know the people in these photos. Well you can probably tell who Tanner's bro is, Chris & his fiance Christy. The peeps in the picture with Chris are Christy's parents, Skip and Dee. Finally, the one on the right bottom is Tanner's mom, Nancy, and her new "friend," Tom. I cannot remember a time that I ate out more. It was a great, relaxing weekend!

weekend getaway

Wednesday, April 2, 2008

Tanner and I had an interesting day yesterday. We got into Virginia at 10:30 p.m. to two great voicemails...one for me and one for him. Background: 1. Tanner and his brother have been putting a blog together for Chris, that gives an insider's view into Chris's everyday life, chriscooley47.blogspot.com, a story was written in the Washington Post about it today and 2. I met with a modeling agency, Urban Talent, this afternoon in SLC to try to get signed on with them I also got slipped into a casting session that was going on while I was there. The calls: 1. The blog had 20,000 hits by 7:30!!! and 2. Urban Talent called and said the client loved me and the owner saw me and wanted to make sure they got me to sign on with them! We didn't expect either of these messages it was a great welcome call! Read more...
